Thanks Bill. I'm pessimistic that Morin will play another NHL game at this point. I hope the team can find an off-ice position for him going forward if that's the route he decides to take. I take it this was a big reason why they went out and got Yandle as a 7th Defenseman...I honestly didn't have a lot faith he could play a whole year...best of luck to him. |

I will wait to hear the official diagnosis before I comment. From what was being said on Saturday and from what Ant reported yesterday, it doesn't sound good. Really hoping its not another ACL. But I don't know any specifics for certain. |

Who now has the inside track on being the 7th dman? would they sign a guy like Ben Hutton?

Yandle was an end of the FA season pickup for close to the league minimum. That sounds like his role will be closer to that of a 7th Dman with Ellis, Provorov, Sanheim, Risto and Braun already in tow. |

Ok, I wasn't factoring in that Hagg got dealt earlier. I guess they'll need to backfill with someone from the Phantoms.

They might sign someone, assuming the worst proves true with Morin. Right now, it's an open competition. Someone like Adam Clendening or Nick Seeler would have a shot at the spot since are vets with previous NHL experience and it's better to have a vet as the No. 7 rather than a young player sitting potentially for weeks at a time. |

It’s really getting old with the injuries to younger guys. I’m sure the flyers aren’t the only team that deals with this.
At some point some good fortune would be nice.
If Morin’s injury is bad I feel for the guy. Maybe the flyers can offer him asst rehab coach.
Being that he’s gone through the process enough times he could be helpful to other guys going the rehab.
If Allison’s injury is serious that’s the kind of thing that I can’t stand seeing.
Hoping for the best. |

Those rookie games always scare me a bit. Very early in the process of camp so guys are still getting their bodies in game shape. But couple that with guys looking to make an impression by landing a big hit or playing as close to the edge as possible and its a recipe for disaster. |

I hate to say it, but unfortunately this is what its going to be for players like Allison and Morin. I've seen this so many times before, some players just have bad luck, or bad genes, or both and they just can't stay healthy. This is why you just can't pencil a player with a history of injuries in the lineup. Good thing CF worked hard on building depth in the organization, we are barely through rookie camp and already two serious injuries .. Geez! |

I don't know about that, but I watched the 2nd rookie game and I was not too impressed with Frost, he couldn't win a faceoff to save his life! The player that looked best to me was Ratcliff believe it or not. He's a big kid that is not afraid to use his size, and he has an effective reach and protects the puck well. |

I would imagine one of the vets Fletcher signed as a FA, like Clendening or Seeler |

Morin was the 7th defensemen, not Yandle.

Sounds like Morin isn't seriously hurt. Hopefully we get some good news on Allison today too. |

A real shame about Sam Morin's injury. Was hoping to see him in the lineup for some games to punch faces when needed and play some solid physical D. Def a serviceable 7th D IMHO. Not keen on AHL 7th D replacements of Seeler and/or Glendening. Perhaps look into signing UFA Brayden Coburn or Luca Sbiza at NHL minimum for a 7th D replacement? For the number of games Big Sam would probably have played, either Coburn or Sbiza would suffice. . .any other longer-term injuries York will be brought up so they won't be relying on a 7th D too much. |
